Chieko was overwhelmed --but certainly not unhappy-- when her parents said Gerard could sleep over for one night only, and this is the only time! So she spent at least half an hour doing her hair, wearing her cutest and brightest clothing, cleaning her room and getting stuff like popcorn out.
When Gerard finally arrived, though, after giving her a hug and a kiss, he affectionately ruffled her hair and tripped on a teddy bear, sending a drawer full of doodles onto the floor with a crash. Chieko found this hilarious. Gerard managed a grin peeking at some of her scribbles.
